Put this in the pile of "things I did not know:"
The origin of the sun salutation asana series.
While there are certainly some variations, if one were performing sun salutations in their specific style, it would probably be recognizable. Wikipedia tells me that the series was first recorded in the 18th and 19th century, but is probably much earlier. Of course, as per yesterday's post about non-definitives, there is some discussion as to the exact origins and whathasits.
What do you know about the series of poses in the sun salutations and how they came to be in that order? If you teach, what do you tell your students about the sequence as they are moving through it?
Show us how its done, Shiva.
